FISTS is a well established and recognized CW organization in the world of amateur radio. Founded in 1987 by Geo Longden, G3ZQS, it now has a membership in the thousands, is world-wide, and growing daily.
FISTS wants to accomplish:
1. To further the use of CW on the amateur bands.
2. To encourage newcomers to the CW mode.
3. To engender friendship within the membership.

The Old Old Timers Club was founded in 1947 by a group of amateurs who had played a part in laying the foundations of electronic communications.
The requirement for membership was 2-way communication by wireless 40 or more years prior to 1947. At that time the members were "spark" operators in 1907 or earlier when there was no licensing authority. The requirements have continued to this day - two-way wireless communication by amateur, military or commercial means 40 or more years ago.

From their website: " The Quarter Century Wireless Association was founded in 1947 to provide an organization for the pioneers of the hobby to gather. QCWA Promotes friendship and cooperation among Amateur Radio operators who were licensed at least a quarter century ago, and are licensed today.
More than 30,000 membership numbers have been assigned over the years by Headquarters. Although the majority of these amateurs live in the United States, our membership stretches around the world.
Activities within QCWA range from the local -- belonging to or organizing a Chapter in your area. Local chapters are involved with all areas of Amateur Radio. -- to the national, when we meet for a National Convention each year in October -- to the international, during our two QSO Parties."
